Singer’s Jewelers is named Small Business Of The
Year
Singer’s Jewelers is proud to be the recipient of the 2005 Guilderland
Chamber of Commerce “Small Business of the Year” Award.
The award recognizes outstanding businesspersons or organization
leader for his or her business innovations and accomplishments,
managerial skills, leadership, energy and enthusiasm. The nominees
for this award are members of the Guilderland Chamber of Commerce
and could range from a sole proprietorship to a business with up
to 10 full time employees. The following is an excerpt from the
speech given at the Guilderland Chamber’s annual dinner. Singer’s
Jewelers would like to sincerely thank the Guilderland Chamber for
the award.
Singer’s Jewelers is celebrating their milestone 50th anniversary
in 2005, with the business initially begun by Jeffrey’s father
Abe in 1955. Linda and Jeffrey opened the current store in Guilderland’s
Town Centre Plaza in 1995, where they have successfully expanded
several times over the past few years. Linda and Jeffrey took over
Singer’s Jewelers in 2001.
Customers rave about the incredible personal service they receive
at Singer’s Jewelers. The Singer family is well known and
well loved by their clients and the residents of our community.
Jeffrey and Linda have created a caring, welcoming atmosphere and
know almost everyone by name and jewelry preference.
According to the many nominations submitted by staff and customers,
“The Singers have always made it their business to make all
that enter the door feel special. They work very hard running the
business but never miss an opportunity to say hello and listen to
her customer’s sorrows and joys.” At any given time,
you will find Jeffrey, Linda, or one of their children helping out
behind the counter, as well as a staff of loyal employees. The Singers
donate time and services to many organizations and have worked hard
to build up their business over the years. The Singers have lived
in Guilderland for 22 years and have two children. Their many accomplishments
and numerous civic contributions in support of social causes, the
arts, schools, churches, community groups and other organizations
make them an invaluable asset to the greater Guilderland community
and a very deserving recipient of the 2005 “Small Business
of the Year” Award.
