The Year Was 1955.
Dwight Eisenhower
was president.
Rosa Parks refused
to sit in the back of the bus.
The Dodgers beat the
Yankees to become World Series champs.
On the Waterfront
won Best Picture at the Academy Awards.
Guys and Dolls
brightened the silver screen.
...and ...
Abe Singer founded
Singer's Jewelers!
Fast forward to 2005. Singer's Jewelers is still going strong in its
location at 1704 Western Avenue in Guilderland as we celebrate this, our 50th
anniversary in business. We still follow the philosophy started by Abe all
those years ago, to treat each and every customer with the dignity and respect
that they deserve. This is a major milestone year for us, and we are
celebrating all year long. When you visit Singer's Jewelers today, you
will find Jeffrey Singer (son of Abe), Linda Singer (wife of Jeffrey) and Daniel
Singer (son of Jeff and Linda) all here, carrying on the tradition started in
1955. The business remains a family owned and operated business, and as
you'll find in our purpose statement, once you become our customer you will
forever remain our friend.
We would like to thank everyone for allowing us to celebrate this important
milestone, and we are looking forward to 50 more exciting years in business in
the Guilderland community.
